Pre-Recorded Webinar: Customized Employment has been defined in law for almost 20 years, and Discovery is the first step in the CE process. It’s individualized, it focuses on matching what someone has to offer by identifying interests, preferences, skills and the contributions they bring with the needs of an employer. It highlights the strengths, needs and interests of a job seeker – and needs include conditions of employment.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to

  1. Recognize components of customized employment.
  2. Identify customer challenges in which this strategy will be beneficial.
  3. Understand the basic elements of the Discovery process.

Presenter: Nancy Boutot

Nancy Boutot is a Manager of Financial Empowerment at National Disability Institute (NDI). Nancy provides training on Social Security work incentives, benefits planning and work supports and other asset development strategies to empower individuals and communities to maximize financial capabilities. Prior to joining NDI, she spent eight years with the Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida and 14 years directing nonprofit community based employment programs in Florida and New Jersey. Nancy earned her Master of Science degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and is also a certified Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) through Virginia Commonwealth University’s National Training Center
